Electric vehicles have gained more and more attention because of the serious oil crisis and\nenvironmental problems. However, the disadvantages of the electric vehicle, such as short driving\nrange, high battery cost, and inconvenient charging, are hindering its market development and\nexpansion. The realization of on-road wireless power transfer technology can effectively solve the\nproblems of short driving range, prevent the battery from being completely discharged to prolong its\nservice life, and reduce requirement of on-board battery. In this paper, the charging mode and the\ncompensation topology of wireless power transfer technology are discussed and then the equivalent\ncircuit model of segmental wireless power transfer system is built. We carried out some magnetic\nfield simulation to analyze how the track shape and length influence coupling coefficient, which is\nlater verified by experiments.
